Hi, I’m Trina and I’m here to support your growth and healing.

My therapeutic approach is inspired and informed by the new wave of practitioners integrating therapeutic process with scientific knowledge and spiritual practice. I draw from humanistic and experiential psychology, attachment theory, interpersonal and developmental neurobiology, mindfulness and somatic practices.
I work in a way that is directive and experiential. This means that I help to focus clients away from repetitive patterns of thoughts and emotions, towards a deeper felt sense of what is happening within. Together we work to unfold new experiences that can then be consolidated into new beliefs and new ways of showing up in their lives.Whether working online, in an office or in nature, I provide an attuned presence to support you as you tend to your challenges, discover your strengths and find more fulfillment in your life.

My own healing journey and my counselling career path are, perhaps unsurprisingly, deeply entwined.
My young life was challenging, and while I don’t believe that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, I do believe in our potential for greater strength and a depth of understanding when conditions allow us to mend the broken hearts and bodies we receive along the path.
I was gifted with the support of social workers, counsellors, mentors, teachers, guides and friends that have helped me to mend and inspired me to walk the path of guiding and supporting others. In my early 20’s, I turned towards yoga to heal my body after a serious car accident. The practices and philosophies of yoga not only put me in touch with pain in my body, but set me on a path of deep healing and learning, and opened the door to teachers and trainings in buddhist meditation, earth-based ritual and activism, and a variety of therapeutic practices that have informed who I am today and the approach I take to counselling.
Over the past 15 years I have worked with youth, adults and families in a variety of roles; as facilitator, support worker, anti-oppression education coordinator and counsellor.
I see it as a great privilege to practice as a counsellor at this time, when breakthroughs in Western psychological and neurobiological science are pointing to the radical interconnection of life, long understood by global wisdom traditions.
I believe our abilities to sense, explore and integrate our life experiences and interconnectedness create a foundation for mental wellbeing, and I am passionate about ongoing education and opportunities to contribute to the field.
